Referencing styles used at Hertfordshire
“Harvard” is not one style. Institutions and individual schools publish their own variants, and markers notice when punctuation, ordering or the handling of online sources drifts. These are the styles Hertfordshire students most often bring us — send your school’s guide with the brief and we format to it from the first draft.

How marking works here
Hertfordshire marks in percentages against the standard UK classification bands, and its regulations for taught programmes define how modules are passed, compensated and reassessed. Assessment briefs carry explicit criteria and weightings, and because so many programmes are professionally oriented, markers commonly look for application, evidence of method and a defensible conclusion rather than breadth of reading alone. Engineering and computing modules often require numeric referencing, worked calculations and properly captioned figures — the presentation of results carries real marks. Placement and work-based modules are assessed partly on reflective and employer-facing evidence, which must be genuinely your own; support there is coaching rather than drafting.
Whatever the scale, the practical move is the same: get hold of the criteria grid before you write. Your expert plans the work against it criterion by criterion, writes it from scratch, and annotates it with a marker’s note explaining which paragraph is doing which job.

Peak deadline periods at Hertfordshire
Deadlines do not arrive evenly. These are the weeks when Hertfordshire submissions bunch up — and when every other student in your cohort is asking for the same help at the same time.
Book a slot earlyMid-December to January
semester A coursework and the January assessment period
Late April to May
semester B coursework and end-of-year assessment
August to September

Book early — it is free to do so
Quotes cost nothing and nothing starts until you approve your expert, so there is no downside to reserving a slot two or three weeks out. Practically, an earlier start buys you a plan review, a draft review and time to actually learn from the work — the three things a 48-hour turnaround cannot give you at any price.
Hertfordshire students ask us
The three questions that come up most from University of Hertfordshire. Anything else, our academic co-ordinators reply in person — 24/7, 365 days a year.
Ask us anythingI am on a placement year and returning to a final-year project. Where do I start?
With scoping. We help you turn placement experience into a viable project question, map it to a method your school will accept, and build a realistic timeline — that is usually a single guided session, not a full brief.
Do you cover technical reports with calculations and figures?
Yes. Engineering and computing solutions are written out in full by a specialist in the field, with the working, stated assumptions, units, captioned figures and numeric referencing, plus a walkthrough so you can explain each step in a demo or viva.
What if I am referred and have to resubmit over the summer?
Send us the original brief, your submission and the feedback. We show exactly where the criteria were missed, then your expert writes a fresh answer that addresses each point, so the resubmission fixes the diagnosis rather than restating the same argument.

Same approach, different conventions. Each page covers referencing, marking, submission platforms and the weeks deadlines cluster.
