1. What this policy covers
This policy applies to every order placed with GetAssignment through the GetAssignment website. It forms part of our Terms of Service and sits alongside our Guarantees. Where this policy and the Terms address the same point, this policy governs refunds specifically.
Nothing here reduces your statutory rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 a service must be performed with reasonable care and skill, within a reasonable time and for a reasonable price; where it is not, you are entitled to a repeat performance or a price reduction. Our policy is deliberately more generous than the statutory minimum in most respects.
All refunds are made in GBP to the original payment method. We do not charge an administration fee for processing a refund, and we do not deduct the payment processor’s fees from what we return to you.
2. The revision-first principle
The single most important thing in this policy is this: almost every problem is a revision, not a refund. If the bespoke work written by your assigned expert has missed part of the brief, misread a question, used the wrong referencing style or landed at the wrong depth, telling us is faster and better for you than asking for your money back — because a revision gets you the material you actually needed, on a deadline that still works.
Revisions are unlimited and free for 30 days after delivery, provided the request is consistent with your original brief. We aim to return a revised draft within 24 hours for standard orders and 12 hours where your deadline is imminent. You keep the original file throughout, so nothing is ever lost.
For this reason, we normally ask you to try one revision before we assess a quality-based refund claim. There are two exceptions where we skip straight to a refund: where we have missed your deadline, and where the work is materially different from what you ordered. In those cases the failure is ours and a revision would waste your time.
3. Eligibility windows
Refund claims are time-limited so that we can investigate properly while the evidence and the expert are still available.
- Before an expert is assigned — cancel at any time for a 100% refund, no questions asked. Assignment usually happens within 30 minutes.
- Before delivery — cancel at any time for a partial refund calculated on the schedule in section 5.
- Quality-based claims — within 14 days of delivery.
- Late delivery claims — within 7 days of the missed deadline.
- Originality claims — within 30 days of delivery, supported by a report from your institution or a recognised similarity checker.
- Duplicate or unauthorised payment — within 90 days of the charge.
Where an institutional process — a marking turnaround or an academic misconduct enquiry — means you cannot meet a window, tell us before it closes and we will extend it in writing while that process runs.
4. When you receive a full refund
You are entitled to 100% of what you paid, without argument, in each of the following situations.
- We cannot take your order. If we cannot source a suitably qualified expert for your subject or deadline, we cancel and refund in full, usually within an hour of you ordering.
- You cancel before an expert is assigned. No deduction of any kind.
- We miss your deadline. If delivery is late through our fault and the material is consequently of no use to you, you receive a full refund. If it is late but still usable, section 5 applies instead — your choice, not ours.
- The work is materially different from the brief. A different question, a different subject, the wrong academic level, or a word count more than 10% short of what you ordered.
- The work fails an originality check. If a recognised similarity checker returns more than 10% unattributed matching text, or your institution substantiates a plagiarism finding against material we supplied, we refund in full and cover the cost of any re-check.
- We breach our originality and authorship undertaking. We warrant that every order is researched and written from scratch to your brief by the qualified subject expert assigned to it, and that it is neither resold nor reused. If we breach that warranty, you receive a full refund, and the burden of demonstrating how the document was written is ours, not yours.
- Duplicate or unauthorised charges. Refunded in full as soon as we verify the transaction, typically the same working day.
- We fail to deliver at all. Full refund, plus a credit note for 25% of the order value towards future work.
5. When a partial refund applies
Partial refunds recognise that work has genuinely been done while acknowledging that you have not received the full benefit of it.
Cancelling an order in progress
- Expert assigned but no work started — 90% refunded.
- Cancelled within the first half of the delivery window — 70% refunded.
- Cancelled in the second half of the delivery window — 50% refunded.
- Cancelled after a draft has been shared with you — 30% refunded.
Late delivery where the work is still usable
- Up to 6 hours late — 15% refunded.
- 6 to 24 hours late — 30% refunded.
- More than 24 hours late — 50% refunded, or a full refund at your election.
Quality shortfalls that a revision has not resolved
Where you have used at least one revision and the material still falls short of the brief in a specific, identifiable way, we assess the proportion of the brief that was not met and refund that proportion, with a floor of 20% and a ceiling of 80%. An independent senior editor who has not worked on your order makes that assessment, and you receive their written reasoning.
Reduced scope
If you reduce the word count or drop a component after work has begun, we refund the difference in price less any work already completed on the removed component.
6. What is not refundable
We are as clear about the limits as we are about the entitlements. Refunds are not available in these circumstances.
- The grade or mark you received. We do not and cannot guarantee academic outcomes, and a mark you are unhappy with is not by itself evidence of a defect in our work.
- A change of mind after delivery where the material matches the brief. Once a bespoke digital product has been delivered it cannot be returned.
- Requirements you did not tell us about. If a marking rubric, module handbook or supervisor instruction was not shared with us, we cannot be held to it — though we will almost always revise free of charge to incorporate it.
- Claims made outside the windows in section 3, unless we agreed an extension in writing.
- Delay caused by incomplete instructions or by a failure to answer an expert’s clarifying question, where that delay is what caused the deadline to slip.
- Breach of our Terms — including submitting our materials as your own work, sharing them publicly, or attempting to engage an expert off-platform.
- Free items such as complimentary plagiarism reports, formatting, title pages and reference lists, which carry no independent price.
7. How to claim, step by step
There is no form to hunt for and no hold music. Follow these five steps.
- Contact us within the applicable window. Message us via support@getassignment.in with the subject line “Refund request — order #”, or from your order dashboard, or call +91 95096 17330. Support desk open 24/7, 365 days a year.
- Tell us what went wrong and attach your evidence. Useful evidence includes the original brief, the delivered file, a marking rubric, a similarity report or correspondence from your institution. You will receive an acknowledgement with a case reference within 1 hour.
- We investigate. A case handler who did not work on your order reviews the brief against the delivery and speaks to the expert. Standard orders are assessed within 24 hours; dissertations and multi-part projects within 72 hours. We will tell you if we need anything further.
- We give you a written decision. You receive the outcome, the amount, the reasoning and — where relevant — the offer of a revision instead. If you disagree, you may escalate once to our Head of Quality, who responds within 48 hours. That decision is final internally.
- We release the money. Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within 1 working day of the decision. Section 8 sets out how long your bank then takes.
You may nominate someone to correspond on your behalf. We will need your written confirmation before discussing your order with anyone else.
8. Processing times by payment method
We release refunds within one working day of approval. The time it then takes to appear in your account depends on your provider, not on us.
- Visa and Mastercard debit — typically 3 to 5 working days.
- Credit cards — 5 to 10 working days, sometimes appearing on your next statement rather than immediately.
- American Express — 5 to 7 working days.
- PayPal — usually within 24 hours to your PayPal balance; longer if it returns to a linked card.
- Apple Pay and Google Pay — follows the underlying card, so see above.
- Bank transfer — 3 to 7 working days once we have your account details.
- Account credit — instant, never expires, and we add 5% to the value if you choose credit over cash.
If the money has not arrived within the periods above, contact us with your case reference and we will send you the refund confirmation from our payment provider to take to your bank.
9. Chargebacks and payment disputes
Please talk to us before raising a chargeback with your bank. A chargeback typically takes 45 to 90 days to resolve; our own process usually takes 24 hours. Raising one rarely gets you your money faster, and it prevents us from continuing to help you while the dispute is open.
When a chargeback is raised we automatically suspend the account and pause any work in progress until the issuer reaches a decision. We will defend chargebacks that we consider unfounded, and we will provide the issuer with the order brief, delivery timestamps, correspondence and originality reports as evidence.
Where a chargeback is raised in bad faith — for example after materials have been delivered, accepted and used — we reserve the right to decline future orders and to recover our costs. Where a chargeback succeeds, the licence granted in our Terms terminates and you must delete the materials.
If you believe a payment on your card was genuinely unauthorised, contact us and your bank straight away. Fraud is the one case where we would rather you did both at once.
10. A worked example
Priya orders a 4,000-word piece of bespoke work, researched and written for her by a subject expert, for a Master’s marketing module with a five-day deadline, priced at £240. Here is how the policy applies at each stage.
- She cancels 20 minutes after ordering, before an expert is assigned: she receives £240 — a full refund.
- She cancels on day one, with an expert assigned but no drafting started: 90% is returned, so £216.
- She cancels on day four, after a partial draft has been shared: 30% is returned, so £72.
- Delivery arrives eight hours late but is exactly what she asked for and still ahead of her own submission date: the 6-to-24-hour band applies and she receives 30%, so £72, while keeping the material.
- Delivery is on time but the work addresses the wrong question: that is a material mismatch with the brief, so she receives the full £240 — and we would normally also offer to redo the work at no charge if her deadline allows.
- Delivery is on time and on brief, but two of the eight required sources are missing. This is a revision, not a refund. The revised version arrives within 24 hours at no cost. If, after that revision, the sources are still not addressed, the shortfall is assessed at roughly a quarter of the brief and she receives £60.
If your situation does not map neatly onto one of these, tell us anyway. The policy is a floor, not a ceiling, and our support desk has discretion to be more generous where the circumstances warrant it.
