Assignment help for Edinburgh students

Founded in 1583, the University of Edinburgh is one of Scotland's four ancient universities and is also a member of the Russell Group. Teaching is spread across the Old College, George Square, King's Buildings and Little France sites, with three colleges covering arts and humanities, science and engineering, and medicine and veterinary medicine. Scottish degree structures differ from those in England — honours are usually four years, and many arts and social science degrees are awarded as an MA.

Referencing

Referencing styles used at Edinburgh

“Harvard” is not one style. Institutions and individual schools publish their own variants, and markers notice when punctuation, ordering or the handling of online sources drifts. These are the styles Edinburgh students most often bring us — send your school’s guide with the brief and we format to it from the first draft.

  • Harvard

Formatted to your school’s published guide, with every citation traceable to a source you can open yourself.

  • APA 7th

Marking conventions

How marking works here

Edinburgh marks against a Common Marking Scheme, so you receive a letter grade band alongside a percentage: broadly A for 70 and above, B for 60–69, C for 50–59 and D for 40–49, with finer subdivisions such as A1 to A3 inside the top band. That granularity matters because an A3 and an A1 are both 'Firsts' but describe different levels of originality and command of the literature, and the honours classification is calculated from the profile of those grades across your final years rather than a single average. Courses publish their own assessment criteria and word-count rules in the course handbook, and schools apply the university's late-penalty and extension provisions consistently. Marks are always provisional until confirmed by the relevant board of examiners.

Whatever the scale, the practical move is the same: get hold of the criteria grid before you write. Your expert plans the work against it criterion by criterion, writes it from scratch, and annotates it with a marker’s note explaining which paragraph is doing which job.

Timing

Peak deadline periods at Edinburgh

Deadlines do not arrive evenly. These are the weeks when Edinburgh submissions bunch up — and when every other student in your cohort is asking for the same help at the same time.

Book a slot early
  1. Late November to December

semester one coursework, ahead of the December exam diet

  2. Late March to April

semester two coursework and the April/May exam diet

  3. August

Master's dissertation submission and the resit diet

  4. Book early — it is free to do so

Quotes cost nothing and nothing starts until you approve your expert, so there is no downside to reserving a slot two or three weeks out. Practically, an earlier start buys you a plan review, a draft review and time to actually learn from the work — the three things a 48-hour turnaround cannot give you at any price.

The three questions that come up most from University of Edinburgh. Anything else, our academic co-ordinators reply in person — 24/7, 365 days a year.

Ask us anything
How does the Common Marking Scheme change how I should aim my work?

It makes the target more specific. Rather than 'get a First', you are aiming at a described band — an A2 typically expects sustained critical engagement with current scholarship, not just accurate coverage. Your expert writes against the band you are aiming for and says plainly what would hold a draft at a B.

I am a first-year on a four-year Scottish honours degree. Is early support worth it?

Yes, because the habits are cheaper to fix now. Pre-honours years often count little towards classification, which makes them the ideal time to build referencing discipline and argument structure with a tutor before the marks start counting.

Can you help with a dissertation that uses Scottish or comparative legal sources?

We can. Scots law is a distinct system, so we match you with someone who works in it rather than assuming English authorities transfer. Reference material is provided with citations you can verify yourself.
