Assignment help for Northumbria students

Northumbria University was formed in 1969 as Newcastle Polytechnic, bringing together older Newcastle colleges, and gained university status in 1992. Based on a city campus in Newcastle upon Tyne with a further site at Coach Lane, it has notable strength in law, business, nursing, computing and design. Its librarians authored the widely used Cite Them Right referencing guide, which is why Cite Them Right Harvard is the default across much of the university.

Referencing

Referencing styles used at Northumbria

“Harvard” is not one style. Institutions and individual schools publish their own variants, and markers notice when punctuation, ordering or the handling of online sources drifts. These are the styles Northumbria students most often bring us — send your school’s guide with the brief and we format to it from the first draft.

  • Cite Them Right Harvard

Formatted to your school’s published guide, with every citation traceable to a source you can open yourself.

  • OSCOLA (law)

Formatted to your school’s published guide, with every citation traceable to a source you can open yourself.

  • APA 7th

Formatted to your school’s published guide, with every citation traceable to a source you can open yourself.

Marking conventions

How marking works here

Northumbria marks in percentages against the standard UK classification bands, and module guides publish the assessment criteria and weightings in advance. Because Cite Them Right is the reference point for so many programmes, referencing is treated as a precise, checkable skill rather than a matter of preference — the guide covers unusual source types in detail, and markers expect them handled correctly. Law provision includes routes with professional exemption, where assessment is framed around practical legal skills as well as doctrinal analysis, so the criteria look different from a conventional essay module. The university's assessment regulations for taught awards govern late penalties, personal extenuating circumstances and the capping of reassessment, and marks are confirmed only at the progression and award board.

Whatever the scale, the practical move is the same: get hold of the criteria grid before you write. Your expert plans the work against it criterion by criterion, writes it from scratch, and annotates it with a marker’s note explaining which paragraph is doing which job.

Timing

Peak deadline periods at Northumbria

Deadlines do not arrive evenly. These are the weeks when Northumbria submissions bunch up — and when every other student in your cohort is asking for the same help at the same time.

Book a slot early
  1. Early to mid-January

semester one coursework and the January assessment period

  2. Late April to May

semester two coursework and end-of-year assessment

  3. August to September

    resits and postgraduate dissertation submission

  4. Book early — it is free to do so

Quotes cost nothing and nothing starts until you approve your expert, so there is no downside to reserving a slot two or three weeks out. Practically, an earlier start buys you a plan review, a draft review and time to actually learn from the work — the three things a 48-hour turnaround cannot give you at any price.

Ask us anything
Everyone here says 'Cite Them Right'. Do you work to it?

Yes, and precisely. Cite Them Right Harvard has defined formats for source types most guides skip — datasets, social media, grey literature, legislation — and we use them, so your reference list survives a close read.

Can you support a law degree with a professional-practice element?

We can support the academic components: doctrinal research, structured written analysis, OSCOLA footnoting and problem-question technique. Anything assessed as your professional competence has to be your own performance.

My programme is heavily weighted towards one assignment. Is staged support available?

That is when it matters most. We split a high-weight piece into plan, draft and final milestones, so a problem in the argument surfaces at week two rather than the night before submission.
