MBA assignment help

An MBA is a Level 7 qualification marked like a boardroom document. Assessors are typically practitioners as well as academics, and they read for decision quality: is the recommendation specific, costed, sequenced and defensible against the obvious objection? Theory matters, but only as the reasoning behind a call you have actually made.

What markers actually expect

The four things being assessed at MBA

Not the module content — the skills the criteria are written to detect. Almost every mark that goes missing at this level goes missing in one of these four places.

  1. 1

An executive summary that can stand alone

It is not an introduction. It states the problem, the analysis in one line, the recommendation, the cost and the expected return — readable in ninety seconds by someone who will never open the report. MBA assessors mark it as a discrete competence, and a summary that merely previews the sections signals you have not written for a business audience.

  2. 2

Frameworks used as tools, not as chapters

A PESTLE table with twelve bullet points is not analysis. Distinction-level work applies the framework, extracts the two or three factors that actually move the decision, and discards the rest — then explains why those factors dominate. The framework should be visible in the reasoning, not in the table of contents.

  3. 3

    Recommendations that are implementable

Named owner, sequence, timeline, resource requirement, success metric and the risk of doing it. 'The company should improve its digital strategy' scores nothing at Level 7. 'Reallocate 15% of the trade marketing budget to paid search over two quarters, measured on cost per acquisition' is what the descriptor is asking for.

  4. 4

    Quantified evidence and financial literacy

Assessors expect you to work with the numbers in the case: margins, ratios, payback, sensitivity to a key assumption. An argument that never touches the financial statements provided reads as commentary rather than analysis, however fluent the strategic narrative around it.

Grade bands explained

What each band actually means

Band descriptors are written for markers, not students. Here is the same thing in plain English, so you can see which side of a boundary your draft sits on.

Grade bands, ranges and descriptors at MBA.
BandRangeWhat the marker is seeing
Distinction70%+Board-ready analysis: incisive problem framing, quantified reasoning and a costed recommendation that survives the strongest counter-argument.
Merit60–69%Solid strategic analysis with appropriate frameworks and a clear recommendation, but limited quantification or thin implementation detail.
Pass50–59%Frameworks correctly applied and the case understood, with recommendations that stay generic and evidence that stays qualitative.
FailBelow 50%Description of the case rather than analysis of it, no defensible decision, or a report format that ignores professional conventions.
Avoid these

Five things that lose marks at this level

Collected from the feedback sheets MBA students send us most often. None of them is about intelligence; all of them are about missing what the criteria were asking for.

  • An executive summary written as an introduction, giving away the report's single most examined element.

  • Framework dumping — SWOT, PESTLE, Porter and VRIO applied in full with no synthesis into a decision.

  • Recommendations with no cost, owner, timeline or measure, so they cannot be evaluated or implemented.

  • Ignoring the financial exhibits in the case pack when the marking scheme allocates marks for using them.

  • Consultancy tone without academic underpinning — assertive claims that cite no peer-reviewed evidence at all.

Ask us anything
Do your MBA experts have industry experience?

The MBA pool is deliberately mixed: academics who teach on Level 7 business programmes and practitioners from strategy, finance and operations. For a consulting-style brief we match a practitioner and have an academic reviewer check the theoretical underpinning, because MBA markers penalise both a purely academic essay and an unsourced consultancy deck.

Can you work with a case pack from Harvard or Ivey?

Yes. Send the case with the questions you have been set and the frameworks your module expects. We work from the exhibits in the pack, including the financials, and show which framework was applied, why it was chosen and what it ruled out — so the analysis is defensible in a seminar discussion.

How do you handle the executive summary?

As the most scrutinised 400 words in the document, written last and drafted separately. You receive a summary that carries the problem, the decision, the cost and the metric, plus a short note explaining why each sentence earns its place — it is the fastest structural fix most MBA students can make.

Can you help with a capstone or live consultancy project?

Yes, with the same boundary as everywhere else on the site: we provide research, worked analysis, structural guidance and feedback on your own work. Where a project involves a real client organisation, we help you build the analytical scaffolding — we do not contact the client or represent you to them.
